I tested three different filament types from Sunlu:
- High-Speed PLA (Red): Designed for fast printing without compromising on quality.
- PLA+ 2.0 (Purple): A stronger and more flexible filament than standard PLA.
- PLA Silk (Holy Green): A decorative filament with a beautiful, glossy finish.
Projects and Experiences
Red High-Speed PLA: I printed two storage boxes and the iconic Benchy boat. The filament was easy to work with, but I noticed that the color could rub off a bit when handling.
Purple PLA+ 2.0: This filament was used for several wall mounts for my Moza steering wheel, another Benchy boat and two storage boxes. I mounted some of the wall brackets on the wall and attached the steering wheel - the result was excellent as the brackets held perfectly.
Holy Green PLA Silk: This filament was used to make a large Dice Tower and another Benchy boat. The silky smooth finish gave a great visual effect that really stood out.
Prices for the filament range from £15 to £19 and with Sunlus Christmas promotions it's easy to find a great deal on quality materials.
